Architectural Columns and Pillars Columns and Pillars can be structural or decorative in function. They can be used to convey strength and stability or to add warmth and intimacy
to a living space. Structural columns can be used to open up a wall opening, while decorative columns can be used to define or separate living spaces
while allowing an open floorplan. Below are photos of three examples.

Formalizing a large foyer. This room originally had bare walls, an oversized passageway and undersized moldings. Our solution: Fabricate wing walls, install 6 inch columns,
then add custom header details above the existing door casings. Lastly, we installed custom
wall frames below a double chair rail around the room and down the stairway. The result: breathtaking.

Commercial Retrofit Pillars These pillars are actually replacements of the failing originals. We were contracted to retrofit nearly two dozen of the original pillars
surrounding the building. These pillars are decorative enclosures for the steel columns that support the structure. We had to recreate five different models, but all match seemlessly with the remaining originals.

Opening up a wall. This renovation
required us to widen and move the doorway between the kitchen and living room. We were able to efficiently accomplish this by containing the containing double studs within these custom fabricated pillars.
This method allowed us to utilize the existing header, dramatically reduce the construction costs, add a focal point to two rooms while creating a more open feel to this area of their home.
